Hazrat Salman Farsi(R.A)

 Hazrat Salman Farsi(R.A)   Hazrat Salman Farsi(R.A) was born in Iran who traveled to Madina and accepted Islam at the hand of Prophet Hazrat  Muhammad (PBUH) thus became His companion.  Hazrat Salman Farsi(R.A) is primarily known for the advice he gave in the battle of Trench. The trench around Madina was dug upon his suggestion, as this was what Persians did when they feared an attack. He also translated Quran into Persian.Hazrat Abu Huraira (R.A) would call him Abul Katiban (Father of Books i.e Quran and Bible) while Hazrat Ali (R.A) would call him Hazrat Luqman(R.A) al Hakeem (Luqman the wise). There is no clear evidence about his place and time of death but it is believed that he died between the end of the reign of Hazrat Usman (R.A) and the beginning of the reign of HazratAli (R.A).

Hazrat Abu Sufyan Ibn Haris(R.A)

Abu Sufyan Ibn Haris(R.A) Hazrat Abu Sufyan Ibn Haris(R.A) was the paternal cousin of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and His companion. He is believed to have born around the same days of the birth of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).  Abu Sufyan(R.A) and Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) spent the childhood together. Even he was nursed by Haleema Sadia (R.A) for a brief time. However, after the announcing of Islam by Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) he turned against Him and did everything possible to tease Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and Muslims. However, before the Muslims’ victory over Makkah, his heart changed and he went to accept Islam after asking for the forgiveness of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). He forgave him after a while, and afterwards Abu Sufyan(R.A) became a true Muslim and fought bravely for Islam.  During the reign of Hazrat Umar (R.A), Abu Sufyan(R.A) passed away and lies in peace at Jannatul Baqi.

Hazrat Khalid Bin Walid(R.A)

Hazrat Khalid Bin Walid(R.A)   Hazrat Khalid Bin Walid(R.A) was born in 592 in Mecca. He belonged to the tribe of Quraish and was the companion of Holy Prophet  Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).  Born in the family of Quraish, he like his elders was against Muslims and detested Islam. It was his military tactic that caused Muslim a loss in the battle of Uhud. However, after the pact of Hudaibia he converted into Islam and afterwards became a true Muslim. He is known for his bravery and the victories he brought to Islam and the expansion of Muslim empire. Under his command the Muslim empire spread to Mesopotamia and Syria. He is one of the greatest military leaders, history has ever witnessed. For his military geniuses and bravery he was given the title of Saifullah (the sword of Allah).  Khalid Bin Walid passed away in 642 and lays at rest in Syria.

Hazrat Bilal Bin Rabah(R.A)

Hazrat Bilal Bin Rabah(R.A) Hazrat Bilal Bin Rabah(R.A) was the companion of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) born 580 CE. He has the title of being the first Moazzin of Islam.  Hazrat Bilal Bin Rabah(R.A) was an Ethiopian slave. He secretly converted to Islam but when his master knew about it, he gave him severe physical punishments but he steadfast to his belief. Hazrat Abu Bakar (R.A) bought him from his master and set him free. When the pattern of AZAN was selected, then Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) appointed Bilal to say the first AZAN. During the life of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) Bilal was the one who said AZAN. However, after the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) passed away, Bilal gave AZAN only once when he traveled back from Syria.  Bilal died in Damascus in 640 . 

Hazrat Abu Hurairah’s(R.A)

Hazrat Abu Hurairah’s(R.A) Hazrat Abu Hurairah’s(R.A) real name was  Hazrat Abdul Rahman Ibn Sakhr Al-Azdi(R.A). He was born in 603 in Yemen and is one of the companions of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).  Hazrat Abdul Rahman(R.A) was born in Yemen, from where one of his tribesmen after becoming a Muslim went back to him and preached him about Islam. He went to Madina and accepted Islam at the hands of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). He used to take care of the mosque and would feed the leftover to the cats, because of which he was named Abu Hurairah (father of cats). He spent 3 years in service of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad(PBUH) and is the narrator of about 5,375 ahadith. He went on expeditions to preach Islam.  Hazrat Abu Huraira (R.A)passed away in year 681 CE and rests in Jannatul Baqi.

Hazrat Abu Ubaidah Bin Jarrah(R.A)

  Hazrat Abu Ubaidah Bin Jarrah(R.A) Hazrat Abu Ubaidah Bin Jarrah(R.A) was one of the companions of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and among the ten who were promised for Paradise. He belonged to the tribe of Quraish and was born in 583 CE.  Hazrat Abu Ubaidah Bin Jarrah(R.A) was born to a merchant family. He embraced Islam a day after Hazrat  Abu Bakar (R.A) did. He lived all his life in modesty and humility. He is also known for his bravery and leadership of army. Prophet Hazrat Muhammad(PBUH) gave him the epithet of Ameen ul Ummat (trustee of the nation). He commanded Muslim armies in different invasion in reign of Hazrat Umar (R.A).  Hazrat Abu Ubaidah(R.A) died when a plague struck Syria, in 638 CE and lies at rest in Jordan.

Hazrat Saad Bin Zaid (R.A)

Hazrat Saad Bin Zaid (R.A)  Hazrat Saad Bin Zaid (R.A) is the companion of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and the brother in law of Hazrat Umar (R.A). He was born in 593 CE and is among the ten who were promised Paradise.  He is one of the early converts to Islam. He converted to Islam at the age of twenty. Hazrat Saad Bin Zaid(R.A) is primarily known for being the source of conversion of Hazrat Umar(R.A) into Islam. It was him and his wife Hazrat Fatima, the sister of  Hazrat Umar(R.A) who turned to Islam first in the family of Hazrat  Umar (R.A). It is upon fighting with them that the heart of Hazrat Umar (R.A) changed and he became a Muslim. He is also known for his bravery and administrative abilities.  Hazrat Saad Bin Zaid (R.A) died at the age of 79 in 673 CE.

Hazrat Saad Bin Abi Waqas(R.A)

Hazrat Saad Bin Abi Waqas(R.A) Hazrat Saad Bin Abi Waqas(R.A) is one of the renowned companions and friends of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). He was born in year 595 CE and is among the ten who were promised Paradise.  Hazrat Saad Abi Waqas(R.A) is one of the early converts of Islam. He converted to Islam at the age of seventeen and afterwards continued on serving Islam till his death. He was known for his bravery and generosity. He was amongst the first Muslims to shoot an arrow against kuffar; it happened in the battle of Uhud. Moreover, he played a vital role in the conquest of Persia in 636 and the expeditions to China.  He died a wealthy man at the age of 80 in 664 CE and rests in peace in Madina.

Hazrat Abdur Rahman Bin Awf(R.A)

Hazrat Abdur Rahman Bin Awf(R.A)  Hazrat Abdur Rahman Bin Awf(R.A) was the companion and friend of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and was among the ten who were promised Paradise. He was born ten years after the Elephant year.  Hazrat Abdur Rahman(R.A) was one of the early converts of Islam. He faced the same problems and troubles which every Muslim faced in Makkah but stood by his belief. He then migrated to Madina and started a business there and became one of the wealthy men. He is known for his generosity and all the financial contribution and charity he did in the name of Allah Almighty and upon the asking of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). His generosity and charity was remarkable and no one stood a chance against him in this regard.  Hazrat Abdur Rehman(R.A) died in 652 being 72 years old, and lies in peace in Amman, Jordan.

Hazrat Zubair Ibn Awwam(R.A)

Hazrat Zubair Ibn Awwam(R.A)  Hazrat Zubair Ibn Awwam(R.A) was the cousin and companion of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). He was born in 594 CE and is among the lucky ten who were promised for paradise by Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).  Hazrat Zubair Ibn Awwam (R.A) was among the first ten who accepted Islam. He accepted Islam at the age of 15 and was a true lover of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad(PBUH). He was known for his bravery and is one of the most successful Muslim commanders. He never missed a single battle during the life of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad  (PBUH) and fought gallantly in all the battles. He played a major role in the victory of Muslim in Egypt. Hazrat Zubair Ibn Awwam(R.A)  was martyred by Marwan and his other rebels in 656 CE when he was sent to capture them on the instructions of Hazrat Ali (R.A) in Basra, Iraq.

Hazrat Talhah Ibn Ubaidullah(R.A)

Hazrat Talhah Ibn Ubaidullah(R.A)  Hazrat Talhah Ibn Ubaydullah(R.A) was the cousin of Hazrat  Abu Bakar (R.A) and among the first eight people who accepted Islam. He is presumed to be born in 597 CE.  Hazrat Talhah Ibn Ubaydullah (R.A) was one of the Mahajars and was given the title of “living martyr” by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The title was given to him for his valiant efforts and bravery in the battle of Uhud, where he protected Prophet (PBUH) from the attacks of Kuffar(Non-Muslims). He is also among the ten people who were promised Paradise by Prophet (PBUH). He is believed to have died in 656 CE.

Hazrat Usman Ibn Affan (R.A)

Hazrat Usman Ibn Affan (R.A) Hazrat Usman Ibn Affan (R.A) was born in 579 CE in Makkah and was the son in law and companion of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He was the third Caliph of Muslims and played a major role in Muslim history.  He was born to the Umayyad clan of Quraish and was a wealthy man. He was known for his charity because of which he was called Ghani (the giver). Moreover, he also married two daughters of Prophet (PBUH) which gave him the epithet of Zunnurain. He took the seat of Ameer ul Momeeneen after Ummar Bin Khattab. During his reign the Muslim empire expanded to Iran and Afghanistan. Moreover, his reign is also known for the economic prosperity and reforms along with the compilation of Quran in the form of a single version by eradicating all the stylistic differences recited in different areas at that time.  Hazrat Usman(R.A) was martyred by rebels in 656 CE in his house. He rests in peace in Jannat ul Baqi.

Hazrat Umar Ibn Khattab (R.A)

Hazrat Umar Ibn Khattab (R.A)  Umar Ibn Khattab (R.A) was born in 586 CE in the tribe of Quraish and was the second Caliph of Islam. He was one of the companions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and son in law.  Hazrat Umar (R.A) was one of the greatest opponents of Islam when it was being preached in secrecy. However, he had a change of heart and converted into Islam. After that Muslims would say their prayers openly. He is known for his justice in the history. It is due to this quality that he was given the title of Farooq. When he took charge of the designation of Caliph after  Hazrat Abu Bakar Sadeeq (R.A) the Muslim empire expanded to its maximum where, it reached to Eastern Roman Empire along with the conquering of Sassanid Persian Empire. He married his daughter Hafsa with Prophet (PBUH). Hazrat Umar(R.A) was assassinated by a Persian assassin in year 644 while he was saying the Fajar prayer. He lies at rest in Masjid-e-Nabwi alongside of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad  (PBUH) and Abu Bakar

Hazrat Abu Bakar Sadeeq(R.A)

 Hazrat Abu Bakar Sadeeq(R.A) Abu Bakr was born in 573 CE in the tribe of Quraish. He is the first Caliph of Muslims, the earliest companion and father in Law of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).  He started as a merchant when he was young and gained a lot of wealth. When he got to know about the declaration of Prophethood by Muhammad (PBUH), he immediately accepted Islam and became the first person in the family to accept Islam. He stood besides Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through thick and thin and also gave his daughter Ayesha (R.A)’s hand to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He was a very generous man and would give all his wealth in the way of Islam. During his reign, the Muslim empire expanded and laid foundation for the biggest empire the history would witness. Abu Bakar died in 634 CE and is lies at rest besides the Prophet (PBUH).
